A family of four was displaced by a house fire that occurred in Vermillion Monday morning.
Vermillion Fire Chief, Matthew Callahan, says the fire occurred around 4 am Monday at a residence at 222 N. University Street.
Callahan says the firefighters discovered heavy fire coming from both floors of the home upon arrival at the scene.
Callahan says they were able to declare the fire out after three hours. No cause has been listed at this time.
No family members were injured, but two dogs and a cat were killed in the fire.
The fire is still under investigation.
