Mount Marty Baseball begins their final series of the regular season this afternoon with a doubleheader against Dakota Wesleyan.
The Lancers and Tigers are currently battling for the final spot in the GPAC tournament, with both teams entering the four-game series 8-16 in league play.
As it stands, Dakota Wesleyan is the 8th and final team in the conference tournament, with Mount Marty in 9th.

Yankton Gazelles Softball dropped a 15-8 decision to O’Gorman last night in their Class AA matchup in Sioux Falls.
Brooklyn King was perfect at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with a double. Ava Girard, Jocelyn Behrns, and Reese Garry each added a hit for the Gazelles.
The Gazelles are back in action today, as they return home for a doubleheader against Sioux Falls Lincoln. First pitch from Sertoma Park is set for 6:00 PM.
Gazelles Golf hosted their second quadrangular meet this week and finished once again as runner-up. Mitchell was dominant on the afternoon and claimed the team title with a 325 while the Gazelles were second, 31 strokes back (356). Sioux Falls Washington (420), and Harrisburg (427) were a distant third and fourth.
The weather was good for golf once again at Fox Run Golf Course on Thursday, as golfers were able to complete most of their round before the wind started to factor. Mitchell’s Maddie Childs (75) and Mia Larson (77) took the top two spots individually. Yankton’s Ellia Homstad finished third in the field with an 84. The other three scores that counted for the team total for Yankton came from Olivia Woods (88) and Sabrina Krajewski (90), who both finished in the top ten. Josslyn Elwood’s 94 also counted for the Gazelles on Thursday.
The Gazelles play next on Tuesday of next week when they go to Hillsview Golf Course in Pierre for an Invitational.
The Yankton Bucks fell to the Harrisburg Tigers on Thursday morning, 9-0, in their Class AA dual.
The Bucks are now 13-3 on the year with the loss. Next up for Yankton is a triangular in Vermillion on Tuesday at the University of South Dakota Tennis Courts.
The Mount Marty Lancers conclude their Softball season today with a road doubleheader against the Hastings Broncos.
The Lancers are 14-26 on the year, 5-15 in GPAC play, heading into the regular season finale.
They currently find themselves on the outside looking in for the postseason, sitting tenth in the GPAC standings, two games back of eighth-place Doane.
First pitch of game one from Hastings, Nebraska, is scheduled for 5:00 PM with game two to follow.
