Jan Mattes has been named the 2025-2026 Yankton School District Teacher of the Year.
Mattes, who is an English and Spanish teacher at the Yankton High School, says the recognition is rewarding to her.
The school district also announced Middle School Head Custodian Candi Barge as the Employee of the Year and Trailhead Learning Center Para Marcia Withrow as the Special Support Services Employee of the Year.
