The Yankton Gazelles were shut out by the Sioux Falls Jefferson Cavaliers last night in their Class AA Softball matchup in Sioux Falls.
The Cavaliers claimed a 10-0 win over Yankton. Isabell Sheldon and Kalli Koletzky both recorded a double in the loss.
The Gazelles fall to 2-2 with the loss. They return to Sioux Falls tonight to take on Sioux Falls Roosevelt at 6:00 PM.
Yankton Bucks Baseball hosts Sioux Falls Roosevelt this afternoon in a doubleheader at Riverside Field.
The Bucks are undefeated on the season with a 6-0 record after Saturday’s 11-1 and 5-0 wins over Spearfish.
First pitch is set for 5:00 PM this evening. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV with Brayden Butler and Josh Boelter begins at 4:15.
Mount Marty Men’s Golf placed 2nd out of 10 teams at the Dakota Wesleyan Spring Invitational, which concluded yesterday in Mitchell.
The Lancers shot +26 as a team for the tournament, edging out the hosts, Dakota Wesleyan, by 3 strokes. Guus Van Loon led MMU individually with a 3rd place finish, while Hunter Bailey tied for 6th and Wout Kerkhofs tied for 8th.
Next up for the Lancers is the GPAC tournament next Monday and Tuesday in Dakota Dunes.
Mount Marty Softball travels to Crete, Nebraska, today for a GPAC doubleheader against the Doane Tigers.
The 14-18 Lancers have won three of their last four games, including a sweep of their doubleheader with Waldorf this past weekend.
Game one is scheduled for 2:00 PM this afternoon, with game two scheduled to begin at 4:00.
Mount Marty Women’s Golf is 5th out of 13 teams following the opening round of the Kaitlyn Erickson/Doane Invite.
The Lancers shot 363 as a team, 3 strokes off of 4th place. Kamri Kittelson currently leads MMU individually in 10th. Also in the top 15 is Abigail Greenhoff in 14th.
The event is scheduled to conclude today at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln, Nebraska. Tee time is set for 9:00 AM.
Yankton Track and Field will host a triangular this afternoon at Williams Field at Yankton High School.
Yankton will face athletes from Brandon Valley and Mitchell during the competition.
Field events are scheduled to start at 3:45 PM, with running events set to begin at 4:00.
Yankton Bucks Tennis travels to Sioux Falls today for a dual with O’Gorman. Matches will be held at McKennan Park, beginning at 4:00 PM.
