A high-speed pursuit led to a car crash in Yankton County Thursday.
According to the Yankton County Sheriff’s Department, dispatch was notified of a vehicle pursuit in Yankton County initiated by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
During the pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle was reported to be traveling at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. The pursuit concluded when the vehicle crashed near the intersection of 305th Street and 448th Avenue.
Two occupants were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries, which are believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
The Yankton County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the crash. Additional information, including the identities of those involved and any potential charges, will be released at a later date pending the investigation.
