Mount Marty’s Sutton Arend has been selected First Team All-GPAC for Men’s Basketball, leading a crew of four postseason honorees for the Lancers.
Following Arend, Deegan Williams was named Second Team All-GPAC, with Jackson Edman and Jake Jensen earning Honorable Mentions.
The Lancer men ended their historic season with a GPAC Semifinal appearance and a 13-7 record in GPAC play, their best record since joining the conference.
Kaela Martinez and Lacey Sprakel lead a trio of Lancers in the GPAC Postseason honors, with both being named Second-Team All-GPAC.
Joining Martinez and Sprakel is Alexis Folkers, who was named an All-GPAC Honorable Mention.
Martinez, Sprakel, and Folkers helped lead the Lancers to a 15-14 record and their first GPAC Tournament appearance since 2016.
A pair of Yankton Basketball players have been recognized as All-ESD honorees heading into the SoDak 16.
Eden Wolfgram was selected All-ESD 2nd team for the Gazelles, helping lead the team to a #13 seed in the SoDak 16.
Jackson Kudera was an All-ESD Honorable mention for the Bucks. Kudera was integral in the Bucks late season surge, winning 7 of their last 9 games. Kudera scored a career-high 35 points in Yankton’s win over Spearfish last week.
The Bucks and Gazelles will compete in the SoDak 16 this week. The Gazelles will face Rapid City Stevens on Friday at 7:00 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:30 with Brayden Butler.
The Bucks take on Harrisburg on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Coverage will begin at 1:30 with Tehl Tanner on KYNT and KYNTV.
Mount Marty Baseball went 1-1 yesterday in a pair of high-scoring games that saw 45 runs over the two contests against Grand View.
The Lancers took game one 13-7. Tyler Vance went 3 for 4 at the plate with a pair of RBIs. Daniel Vonnegut drove in a game-high 4 runs.
Game two ended in a 15-10 loss for MMU. Vance and Vonnegut led the way again with 2 RBIs each in the loss.
The Lancers return to action tomorrow with a pair of games against Keiser University, beginning at noon Eastern, 11:00 AM Central.
Mount Marty Softball dropped a pair of games yesterday against Mount Vernon Nazarene (MVN) and Huntington.
The Lancers fell to MVN 7-4 in game one. Makayla Hudson went 2 for 3 with an RBI, while Kalli Boom drove in two runs for the Lancers.
Game two ended in an 8-5 loss to Huntington. Boom led MMU again with 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Alyssa Sosky ended the game 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored.
The Lancers are back on the field today, taking on Ave Maria University at 12:15 and Michigan-Dearborn at 4:45 in Viera, Florida.
The NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships begin today in Gainesville, Florida, with several Lancers competing for national titles.
Competing today will be Mya Zohner and Paige Clausen in the women’s pole vault, Jonathan Van Lien in the men’s heptathlon, the team of Zelie Sorensen, Alexis Even, Whitney Wollberg, and Josey Wahlstrom in the women’s 1600-meter relay prelims, and the team of Zavio Prato, Samuel Favaretto, Jet Janvrin, and Bastien Furstoss in the men’s 1600-meter relay prelims.
Events are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM Eastern this morning with the men’s heptathlon.
The Crofton Warriors had their season come to an end last night with a 42-36 loss to Elkhorn Valley in the C2 Girls Basketball State Quarterfinals.
Despite the loss, Jaisie Janssen recorded an impressive statline for the Warriors, finishing with 13 points and 15 rebounds for a double-double.
The Warriors end their 2025-26 campaign with a 19-8 overall record.
The Wynot Blue Devils outlasted Falls City Sacred Heart last night, winning in overtime 54-49 in the opening round of the Class D2 Girls Basketball State Tournament.
Addison Sharpe led with 15 points for the Blue Devils, followed by 13 from Haley Wieseler and 11 from Kenna Oligmueller.
Wynot now turns their attention to Red Cloud on Friday in the semifinals. Tip-off from the Bob Devaney Sports Center is set for 10:45 AM tomorrow.
The undefeated Bloomfield Bees begin play in the Class D1 Girls Basketball State Tournament today.
The Bees are the #1 seed in the class with a 26-0 record. They will face #8 Arapahoe in the Quarterfinal round.
Tip-off from Pinnacle Bank Arena is scheduled for 9:00 AM this morning.

The South Dakota Coyotes begin Summit League Tournament play tomorrow, with their men as the #4 seed and the women as the #3 seed.
The men will take on Omaha Friday at 6:00 PM. The Coyotes swept the Mavericks in the regular season, winning 68-64 and 89-72.
The women will take on Denver following the conclusion of Oral Roberts vs St. Thomas at noon. USD won both games against Denver in the regular season, 53-42 and 75-55.
The South Dakota State Jackrabbits open Summit League Tournament play today. The men are the #7 seed while the women are the #2 seed.
The men will play St. Thomas tonight, following the conclusion of North Dakota State vs Oral Roberts at 6:00. The Tommies swept the Jackrabbits in the regular season, 74-69 and 77-62.
The women will take on Kansas City at noon today. The Jackrabbits cruised to a pair of wins over the Roos in the regular season, 76-63 and 93-40.
