The Yankton VFW Post 791 is weighing several options as it pertains to the future of the current VFW building.
Tom Stengrim, who is the VFW quartermaster, says the current building at 209 Cedar Street accounts for nearly 50% of the VFW’s annual expenses.
Stengrim says the building, which is 105 years old, needs remodeled and modernized, but that would cost over $1 million to do so.
Stengrim says they’re weighing the possibility of moving to a new building.
Stengrim says they will be holding a meeting Tuesday night for VFW members, but the meeting is not open to the public.
