A Springfield man that was in a single-vehicle crash on December 22nd in Chancellor, South Dakota has died.
Preliminary crash information indicates the driver of a 2005 Jeep Renegade was traveling on Third Street near Dewey Avenue in Chancellor. The driver lost control of the vehicle and drove off the roadway to the east, struck a utility pole, side-swiped an RV, and came to rest in the front lawn of a residential property.
The driver, 66, was taken to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls with life-threatening injuries. He died from injuries sustained in the crash on January 2.
The name of the person involved has not been released pending notification of family members.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
