Yankton Gazelles Tennis is 6th as a team, with two athletes still competing for state championships after day one of the Class AA State Tournament.
Nora, flight 1, and Sabrina, flight 2, Krajewski are both in the championship semifinals in singles play, and in doubles play at flight 1.
Also in singles play for the Gazelles, Karalyn Koerner is in the flight 3 consolation championship, Meagan Scott is in the consolation championship at flight 4, and Sienna Culka and Elise Koller were eliminated in the consolation semifinals at flights 5 and 6.
In doubles play, Koerner and Scott are in the 5th-place semifinals at flight 2, with Culka and Koller in the consolation finals at flight 3.
The tournament concludes today in Sioux Falls.
Yankton Bucks Football returns home to Crane-Youngworth Field tonight, following their first in-class loss of the year last week to Sturgis.
The Bucks enter week 7 with a 4-2 overall record. Yankton has yet to lose a game at home this season, outscoring their opponents 150-60 in their three games so far.
On the opposite side of the field, the Brooking Bobcats are 3-3 on the year, looking to bounce back from a 20-0 loss to Tea Area last week.

Yankton Competitive Cheer and Dance finished 3rd in dance and 8th in cheer at yesterday’s varsity invitational in Watertown.
Yankton finished 2nd in both Pom and Jazz en route to a 3rd-place dance finish. In the cheer competition, Yankton scored a 236.5.
Next up for the Gazelles is the ESD Conference Meet on October 16th in Brookings.
Mount Marty Volleyball returns to the court tonight, as they host GPAC rivals Morningside inside Cimpl Arena.
The Lancers are 9-10 on the year, 2-6 in GPAC play, coming off back-to-back losses to Dordt and Dakota Wesleyan last week.

Yankton Gazelles Volleyball lost their 5th straight match last night to #2-ranked Brandon Valley in Brandon.
The Lynx swept the Gazelles in three sets, 25-5, 25-18, and 25-22. Tyan Beste led Yankton with 6 kills and an ace in the loss.
Yankton is now off until next Thursday when they host Pierre inside the Summit Activities Center.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are on the road for the first time since August tomorrow afternoon, as they take on the Maryland Terrapins.
The Huskers got back into the win column last week, defeating the Michigan State Spartans 38-27. Maryland enters with a 4-1 record after dropping a close game with Washington last week, 24-20.
