Yankton Post 12 Legion Baseball returns from their extended break tonight with a home doubleheader against Brandon Valley.
Yankton moved into 4th in Class A earlier this week, when one of their losses to Rapid City Post 22 was changed to a forfeit victory for Yankton due to a rule infraction.
First pitch of game one is set for 5:00 PM with game two to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 4:15.
With just a few weeks remaining in the South Dakota Class A Legion baseball season, the first-round playoff matchups are starting to take shape.
Rapid City Post 22 maintains the top spot in the class despite the recent result change for their game against Yankton. The current #2 seed in Watertown will not have a first round series, as they are automatically qualified for the state tournament as this year’s hosts.
Rounding out the remaining top eight seeds who would host an opening round series, Yankton is 3rd, Sioux Falls East is 4th, Brandon Valley is 5th, Renner is 6th, Harrisburg Gold is 7th, and Huron is 8th.
The current projected first-round playoff matchups are available below. Standings were last updated with games on the 3rd of July.
