Yankton Bucks Baseball was swept by Brandon Valley in their doubleheader last night, 16 to 7 in game one and 5 to 2 in game two.

Matthew Sheldon led the Bucks bats in game one, finishing 3 for 3 with 3 RBI, 2 runs scored, and a solo home run.

Yankton was held to 6 hits as a team in game two, with Evan Serck collecting two of them and an RBI.

Next up for Yankton is a home game against Lennox on Saturday, beginning at 3:00 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 2:30. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.

Yankton Gazelles Softball secured their first win of the season last night, defeating Rapid City Central 18 to 3.

Camryn Koletzky led the way at the plate, tallying a pair of hits and 3 RBI. Tori Hansen got her first varsity victory on the mound.

The Gazelles have two games scheduled for today. Facing Spearfish at noon and Pierre at 4:00 PM. Both games will be held at Sertoma Park in Yankton.

Mount Marty Baseball begins a weekend series against Hastings College tomorrow with a doubleheader in Hastings, Nebraska.

The Lancers carry a 21 and 16 overall record into this weekend’s games after splitting back-to-back doubleheaders against Morningside and Jamestown. Hastings is 12 and 26 this season.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM tomorrow.

Mount Marty Softball is on the road in Sioux City, Iowa today for a GPAC doubleheader against Morningside.

The Lancers are 14 and 16 on the year, winners of 4 straight and 5 of their last 6 games. Morningside is 12 and 19 overall, dropping their last 3 games.

First pitch of game one is scheduled for 3:00 PM.

Yankton Bucks Tennis got back in the win column yesterday, defeating Rapid City Stevens 8 to 1 to capture their 10th win of the season.

The Bucks swept singles play over Stevens, with the duos of Christopher Rockne & Luke Moeller, and Miles Krajewski & Ethan Marsh winning in doubles play.

Next up for the Bucks is Tuesday’s home dual against Sioux Falls Washington.

Yankton Gazelles Golf ended their first meet of 2024 with a 6th-place finish in a field of 13 teams.

Sabrina Krajewski and Madison Ryken led the Gazelles finishing tied for 15th after shooting an 89. Elsewhere for Yankton, Ellia Homstad shot 91 and Bailey Anderson finished shot a 101.

Yankton travels to Brookings on Tuesday for a quadrangular at Brookings Country Club. Tee time is scheduled for 4:00 PM.

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Tennis will host Hastings tomorrow for a pair of GPAC duals.

The Lancer men are 9 and 2 so far this season, while the MMU women enter at 4 and 4, coming off their first GPAC win since 2021 last week.

Matches will be held at the Yankton High School Tennis Courts, beginning at 10:00 AM.

Yankton Track and Field will travel to Mitchell tomorrow to compete in the Corn Palace Relays. Events are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.

Members of the Mount Marty Track and Field team are scheduled to compete in the Sioux City Relays beginning today. Events are scheduled to start at noon.
