Yankton Bucks Baseball opens their 2024 campaign tomorrow night, as they host Vermillion for a game at Riverside Field.

First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:00. Bryce Ladwig and Brayden Butler will be on the call.

Mount Marty Softball hosts the Briar Cliff Chargers today for a GPAC doubleheader at Sertoma Park.

The Lancers are 9 and 15 on the year, 1 and 4 in GPAC play, entering tomorrow’s contest. Briar Cliff is 12 and 11 overall. 0 and 2 in the GPAC.

First pitch of game one is scheduled for 3:00 PM with game two to follow.

Yankton Gazelles Softball opens their 2024 season tomorrow, taking on the Brandon Valley Lynx in Brandon.

Yankton is looking to get back to the State Tournament this season after finishing 7th last season. The Lynx are coming off of a 4th place finish last season.

First pitch from Aspen Park in Brandon is scheduled for 6:00 PM tomorrow.

Yankton Bucks Tennis remained undefeated yesterday, beating Brandon Valley 5-4, and sweeping Sioux Falls Roosevelt 9-0.

Zachary Briggs, Harrison Krajewski, Miles Krajewski, and Ethan Marsh all got wins in singles play against Brandon Valley, with Marsh and Miles Krajewski going undefeated with a win in doubles play as well. 

The Bucks’ sweep over Sioux Falls Roosevelt is their 5th of the season, as they improve to 7 and 0 on the year.

Mount Marty Men’s Golf wrapped up the Tabor College Invite yesterday, placing 4th as a team.

The Lancers were led by a 9th-place finish from Bennett Cassens who finished the invite at +6. Elsewhere for MMU, Ted Bengston placed 18th, Wout Kerkhofs finished 23rd, Hunter Bailey was 27th, and Jimmie Cunningham finished 30th.

Next up for the Lancers is a two-day event in Mitchell beginning next Monday, April 8th. 

Mount Marty Women’s Golf is currently in 7th place as a team following day one of the Concordia Spring Invite.

Individually for the Lancers, Kelsey Heath and Tanna Lehfeldt are tied for 16th, Tatum Jensen is tied for 44th, Abigail Greenhoff is tied for 49th, and Caitlyn Stimpson is tied for 62nd.

Today is the 2nd and final day of the invite, tee time is scheduled for 9:00 AM at the Highlands Golf Club in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Yankton High School Track and Field team was scheduled to compete against Sioux City East, Sioux City West, and Sioux Falls Washington in Sioux Falls yesterday, but that meet was canceled due to poor field conditions, as a result of rain and snow accumulation.

The meet will not be rescheduled. The next competition for Yankton Track and Field is slated for Saturday in Brandon, SD.

The Bon Homme Cavaliers Softball team picked up a win over Gayville-Volin yesterday, defeating the Raiders 24 to 7.

Raelee Lanphear hit for the cycle for Bon Homme, finishing the game 4 for 5 with 3 RBI. Karlee Kozak went 2 for 4 with 6 RBI and a home run as well in the win. Andrea Miller and Ayla Dimmer each recorded 3 RBI for Gayville-Volin.

The Cavaliers are off until a tournament on April 13th, while the Raiders take on Wagner and Hanson in a triangular on Saturday.
