Mount Marty Baseball looks to improve on their 15 and 8 record today in a home doubleheader against Doane.

The Tigers come to Yankton ranked #8 in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll with a 14 and 4 record. The Lancers are receiving votes in the same poll.

First pitch of game one is set for 2:30 PM with game two to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 2:00.

Mount Marty Softball returns to action for the first time since March 6th today, as they host Dakota Wesleyan for a doubleheader at Sertoma Park.

The Lancers are 7 and 11 on the year and have not played since they wrapped up their trip to Florida earlier this month. Dakota Wesleyan enters at 11 and 12, winning 6 of their last 8.

First pitch of game one is scheduled for 3:00 PM at Sertoma Park in Yankton, with game two to follow.

Yankton Track and Field had two athletes claim event championships at yesterday’s Dan Lennon Invitational in Vermillion. Shae Rumsey claimed the top spot in the girls’ 400-meter run, while Dylan Payer won the boys’ 800.

Rumsey, who is the defending Class AA State Champion in the 400, also took 2nd place in the girls’ 800. Elsewhere for the Gazelles, Quinn Brinkman took 4th in the triple jump and Alivia Dimmer was 6th in the 60-meter hurdles.

Following Payer’s 800-meter victory, multiple other Bucks finished in the top 4, including Abram Chance, 3rd in the 1600, Carson Ness, 4th in the 400, and Connor Slaba, 4th in the 60-meter dash.

Yankton will next compete on Friday in an indoor meet hosted at Mount Marty University.

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Tennis will be in Sioux City, Iowa tomorrow for a clash with the Morningside Mustangs. Matches are scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.

Four Mount Marty Archers placed in the top 10 of their events at the National Field Archery Association’s Indoor National Championships, including three in the top 5.

Zoe Woods, Female Freestyle, and Danielle Pollard, Female Bowhunter Freestyle, led the Lancers with 3rd place finishes in their events. Lalit Jain followed closely taking 4th in Male Freestyle Limited Recurve.

Rounding out the top 10 finishers was Catalina Herrera with a 9th-place finish in Female Freestyle Limited Recurve. Savannah Chouinard just missed the top 10, taking 11th in Female Barebow Recurve.

The South Dakota Coyotes Women’s Basketball team has accepted an invite to the Women’s National Invitational Tournament with their opening round matchup set for Friday.

This marks the Coyotes’ 13th national postseason appearance in the last 14 years, including their 6th in the WNIT, having won the tournament in 2016.

USD will host UC Riverside in round one, with tipoff from the Sanford Coyote Sports Center set for 7:00 PM on Friday.
