Yankton Gazelles Basketball will be on the road in Mitchell today for a SoDak 16 matchup with the Kernels.

The winner of tonight’s game will earn a spot in the Class AA State Tournament. Mitchell defeated Yankton earlier this year 51 to 41.

Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00 PM this evening. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNT begins at 7:30. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.

Yankton Bucks Basketball will be in Mitchell tomorrow afternoon for their SoDak 16 clash with the Kernels.

This year’s SoDak matchup is a rematch of last season’s state title game. Mitchell defeated Yankton in overtime earlier this year, 49 to 45.

Tipoff from the Corn Palace is set for 5:00 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 4:30. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.

Mount Marty Track and Field athlete Mason Schleis is 2nd in the men’s heptathlon following day one of the NAIA Indoor Nationals.

Schleis currently sits at 2792 points, bolstered by a pair of 2nd place finishes in the long jump and high jump. 

Elsewhere for the Lancers, the women’s 4 by 400-meter relay team of Tianna Bumbaca-Kuehl, Alexis Even, Josey Wahlstrom, and Calli Davis placed 12th in their prelims. The men’s team 4 by 400 team of Nathaniel Kropuenske, Jacob Kueny, Carl Massa, and Zavio Pratto placed 22nd.

Today is the 2nd day of the 3-day competition in Brookings. Today’s events are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.

Mount Marty Baseball will play their first set of games in Orlando, Florida tomorrow afternoon, as part of a 10-game stretch in the Sunshine State.

The Lancers will take on Cornerstone University tomorrow afternoon in a doubleheader, beginning at 12:45 PM.

Mount Marty Softball is down south for the foreseeable future, as they play their first two of ten games in Viera, Florida over the next week tomorrow morning.

The Lancers will take on Houghton University for a pair of games, beginning at 10:00 AM. 

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Tennis will host Iowa Central for a pair of duels in the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center today. Matches are scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM. 

The Crofton Warriors will take on Elmwood-Murdock this afternoon in the Class C2 State Semifinals. 

Tipoff from the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln is scheduled for 3:15 PM. Pregame coverage on Riverfront Sports 94.3 FM is at 2:45. Scott Ulrich will be on the call.

The Wynot Blue Devils face off with Falls City Sacred Heart this evening in the Class D2 State Semifinals. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:45 PM at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball picked up a senior night victory over North Dakota State last night, 88 to 68.

Lahat Thioune led the Yotes with a 31-point, 11-rebound double-double. Max Burchill added 17 points as well.

USD ends the regular season on Saturday, on the road against North Dakota.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball was defeated by North Dakota State in Fargo last night, 63 to 54.

Grace Larkins led USD with 22 points on the night. She was followed by a 14-point performance from Carley Duffney.

USD will host North Dakota for senior night on Saturday.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball defeated the North Dakota Fightin’ Hawks last night, 72 to 62.

Zeke Mayo tallied 26 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals, leading the Jackrabbits in all four categories.

SDSU is in Fargo on Saturday for a game against North Dakota State.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball is one game away from completing a perfect Summit League regular season, following last night’s 103 to 47 win over North Dakota.

Brooklyn Meyer recorded a team-high 17 points, followed closely by Ellie Colbeck and Madison Mathiowetz with 16 each.

SDSU ends the regular season at home on Saturday against North Dakota State.
