Yankton Bucks Basketball fell to 3 and 13 last night with a 59 to 44 loss to the undefeated Sioux Falls Christian Chargers.

Landon Potts led Yankton in scoring with 16 points on the night, adding 8 rebounds as well. Matthew Sheldon also cracked double figures with 10 points for the Bucks.

Next up for Yankton is a home game tomorrow night against the Tea Area Titans, as part of a boys & girls doubleheader

Yankton Gazelles Basketball is now 4 and 12 on the year, following last night’s 53 to 31 loss to Sioux Falls Christian.

Eden Wolfgram led Yankton in both scoring and rebounding on the night, with 12 points and 5 boards for the Gazelles. Camryn Koletzky had a team-high 4 steals as well.

Next up for Yankton is a home game tomorrow night against the Tea Area Titans, as part of a boys & girls doubleheader

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s basketball will be in Hastings, Nebraska this evening for a GPAC doubleheader against Hastings.

Hastings swept the doubleheader earlier this season between the two institutions, as the Mustangs defeated the Lancer women 87 to 42, and the Lancer men 76 to 53.

The women will play first at 5:00 PM today with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT begins at 4:15. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

The Crofton, Wynot, Hartington-Newcastle, and Cedar Catholic girls’ basketball teams opened up sub-district play last night in classes C2-8 and D2-6.

In C2-8, #1 seeded Crofton defeated #4 Hartington-Newcastle 51 to 27, and #2 Cedar Catholic beat #3 Ponca 55 to 36 to advance to tomorrow night’s subdistrict final. The game will be held in Crofton at 6:30 PM.

In D2-6, #1 Wynot defeated #4 Wausa 61 to 28. The Blue Devils will face #3 Humphrey St. Francis in tomorrow night’s subdistrict final, following their win over Howells-Dodge. Tomorrow night’s game is scheduled for 7:00 PM in Wynot.

The Yankton Quarterback Club will host their weekly meeting at noon today at the River Rocks Event Center in Yankton. 

This week’s featured guest speakers will be Yankton High School Head Track & Field Coach Geoff Gross and Mount Marty University Head Track & Field and Cross Country Coach Dan Fitzsimmons.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball makes the trip to Omaha, Nebraska tomorrow night for a matchup with the Omaha Mavericks.

The Coyotes fell to the Mavs when the two teams met on New Year’s Eve. Frankie Fidler led Omaha with a game-high 27 points in their victory.

Tipoff from Omaha is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball returns home tomorrow night, as they host the Omaha Mavericks inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.

The Coyotes took a 77 to 71 overtime victory over Omaha when these teams met on New Year’s Eve. Grace Larkins recorded a 22-point 12-rebound double-double in the win for USD.

Tipoff from Vermillion is slated for 6:00 PM tomorrow.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball will be on the road tomorrow night for a Summit League game against the Kansas City Roos.

SDSU took a 75 to 66 win the last time these two teams met, as Luke Appel tallied 19 points, while Charlie Easley recorded an 11-point 12-rebound double-double.

Tipoff from Kansas City is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball looks to remain undefeated in Summit League play tomorrow night with a home game against Kansas City.

SDSU defeated the Roos 72 to 49 when the teams met on January 25th, with Paige Meyer and Tori Nelson leading the way with 14 points apiece.

Tipoff from Frost Arena in Brookings is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow.
