Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Basketball is at home this evening, as they host Rapid City Stevens for a doubleheader.

On the boys’ side, the Bucks are 2 and 11 on the year, while Stevens enters with a 10 and 5 record. The Gazelles hold a 4 and 9 record on the girls’ side, while Stevens is 7 and 9.

The Gazelles will play first at 6:00 PM with the Bucks to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:30. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Basketball hit the road for the first time in weeks tomorrow, as they travel to Orange City, Iowa for a doubleheader against Northwestern.

Mount Marty split their doubleheader earlier this year against Northwestern, as the Red Raiders took the women’s game 82 to 47, while the Men’s game ended in favor of the Lancers, 73 to 70, thanks to a three-quarter court buzzer beater from Cole Bowen.

The women will play first tomorrow at 2:00 PM with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT begins at 1:15. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

Yankton Gazelles Wrestler Jaclyn Kite took home a 2nd place finish at 138 pounds yesterday in the ESD Conference meet.

Kite advanced to the championship round before falling to Katelyn Yaxley of Watertown. Also for Yankton, Monica Massey went 1 and 2 on the day at 114 pounds.

Yesterday’s meet was the final one for the Gazelles before the state tournament. Qualifiers and seeding are still being decided and will be announced at a later time.

Yankton Gazelles Gymnastics are in the state capital today, as they open the 2024 State Tournament at Pierre T.F. Riggs High School.

The Gazelles qualified as a team for the event with a 6th-place finish in the ESD meet. Along with that, Ava Koller, Burkely Olson, Emma Gobel, Ellie Drotzmann, and Avery Portillo will also compete in tomorrow’s individual competition.

Today’s team competition is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM.

Mount Marty Track and Field is set to host the “Mount Marty Last Chance Meet” today at the Ruth Donohoe First Dakota Fieldhouse in Yankton. Events are set to begin at noon.

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Tennis will host Concordia University today for a duel in Yankton. Matches are scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.

Mount Marty Softball will meet the University of Minnesota-Crookston at a neutral site tomorrow afternoon, as the two programs square off in Sioux Center, Iowa for a doubleheader. Game one is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM, with game two to follow.

The Nebraska School Activities Association has officially set their girls’ basketball sub-district pairings, and both Crofton and Wynot have earned top seeds and the right to host their subdistricts.

Crofton is currently undefeated at 20 and 0 on the year, following a 38 to 31 win last night over Norfolk Catholic. Wynot sits at 16 and 2 on the season, also coming off of a win last night against Wayne, 48 to 39.

Crofton will open up Sub-District C2-8 play against Hartington-Newcastle on Tuesday, while Wynot will host the winner of Wausa vs Winside on Tuesday in Sub-District D2-6.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball outlasted Denver last night for a 92 to 86 overtime win in Vermillion.

Bostyn Holt led the offense for USD with 27 points on the night. Lahat Thioune followed with 19 points and 8 rebounds, while Paul Bruns added 18 points and 9 boards.

USD will have a week off before their next game when they hit the road to take on the Omaha Mavericks.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball defeated the Denver Pioneers last night, picking up a 78 to 48 road win, and sweeping the season series.

Grace Larkins led the way, as she was the top scorer in the game with 17 points. Larkins also recorded a team-high 9 rebounds.

USD is off until next Thursday night when they host Omaha in Vermillion.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball will be at home tomorrow afternoon, as they host Oral Roberts inside Frost Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM on Saturday.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball will be on the road tomorrow for their matchup with Oral Roberts. Tipoff from Tulsa, Oklahoma is set for 2:00 PM.
