Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Basketball hosts Doane University tonight for a GPAC doubleheader.

On the men’s side, the Lancers enter with a 5 and 16 overall record following their 75 to 62 loss to Morningside on Wednesday. Doane’s men’s team is 7 and 16 on the year, and are coming off of a loss on Wednesday as well, 79 to 70, at the hands of Dakota Wesleyan.

On the women’s side, Mount Marty is 5 and 17 overall, coming off of a loss to Morningside on Wednesday. The Tigers enter at 13 and 9 on the year but have dropped their last 3 straight to Dakota Wesleyan, Jamestown, and Dordt.

The women will play first at 6:00 PM tonight with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:15. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

Yankton Gazelles Wrestling will travel to Harrisburg tomorrow afternoon, as they compete in the Eastern South Dakota Conference meet. 

Aberdeen Central, Brandon Valley, Brookings, Harrisburg, Huron, Mitchell, Pierre, and Watertown will all compete in the event. Matches begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday.

The Yankton Quarterback Club will host their weekly meeting today at noon at the River Rock Event Center in Yankton.

This week’s featured guest speakers will be Mount Marty University President Dr. Marc Long, and Corey Westra, the Commissioner of the Great Plains Athletic Conference.

The University of South Dakota Football Program announced yesterday that they had signed Matt Vitzthum as an assistant coach, with a focus on the wide receiver room for the Coyotes.

Vitzhum joins USD following a decade at Grand Valley State, spending the last 4 seasons as their offensive coordinator. During his time on the staff, GVSU made 7 Division II playoff appearances and won 5 conference titles.

Vitzhum’s coaching career started during his time as a student at Wartburg College, from where he graduated in 2009.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball returns home tomorrow night, as they host Denver inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball will be on the road tomorrow night, as they take on the Denver Pioneers in Denver, Colorado. Tipoff is set for 7:00 PM tomorrow.
