Mount Marty Men’s Basketball fell to Hastings College last night, with the Mustangs taking a 76 to 53 victory.

The Lancers, now 5 and 9 on the year, were led in scoring by Micah Johnson who tallied 15 points. Hastings’s Reggie Thomas scored a game-high 25.

The Lancers take a trip to North Dakota on Saturday for their next game against Jamestown.

Mount Marty Women’s Basketball was defeated in GPAC play by Hastings College last night, 87 to 42.

Sidney Thue (Thoo-ee) led the Lancers in scoring with 8 points, while Kaity Hove (Ho-vee) had team highs in rebounds with 10 and steals with 3.

The Lancers are on the road for their next game against Jamestown on Saturday.

Yankton Bucks Basketball will be at home tomorrow night, as they host the Watertown Arrows inside the Summit Activities Center.

Yankton enters the contest with a 1 and 6 overall record, following a close 49-45 loss to #2 Mitchell last week. The Arrows are 5 and 3 on the year and ranked #4 in Class AA following their loss to Aberdeen Central on Tuesday.

Tip-off from Yankton is scheduled for 7:00 PM, with pregame coverage on KYNT and KYTNV beginning at 6:30. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.

Yankton Gazelles Basketball are set to hit the road tomorrow night, as they travel to Watertown for a matchup with the Arrows.

The Gazelles are 2 and 5 so far this year, following their loss to #4 ranked Mitchell last week. The Arrows are 2 and 6 coming into tomorrow’s ESD clash, following a loss to Aberdeen Central on Tuesday.

Tip-off from the Watertown Civic Arena is slated for 7:00 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT+ and KYNTV begins at 6:30. Brayden Butler will be on the call.

Yankton Bucks Hockey takes the ice tomorrow night, as they host Huron at the Kiwanis 4-H Ice Arena in Yankton, beginning at 8:00 PM.

The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Wrestling triangular that was scheduled for this evening has been postponed due to weather.

Yankton Gymnastics will be on the road tomorrow afternoon, as they compete in an invitational in Huron. Events are scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM tomorrow.

The University of South Dakota announced yesterday that Corey Jenkins has been promoted to Deputy Athletic Director for the University.

Jenkins previously served as the senior associate athletic director for facilities and operations at USD since 2018, and was the interim AD for USD throughout the fall semester, before current AD Jon Schemmel’s recent appointment.

In his new role, Jenkins will provide oversight for several internal and external departments. He will continue in his role as sport supervisor of Coyote football. Jenkins will also oversee the strength and conditioning and sports medicine areas. 

South Dakota Men’s Basketball will be on the road tonight, as they take on Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball will be at home this evening for their matchup with Oral Roberts. Tip-off from Vermillion is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball is on the road tonight, as they take on St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball will take on St. Thomas tonight to re-open Summit League play. Tip-off from Frost Arena is slated for 7:00 PM.
