Yankton Bucks football hits the road tomorrow, as they travel to Aberdeen to take on the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles.

            This is the second to last game of the season for both teams, as they vie for a top-4 spot in Class 11-AA, and the ability to host a first round playoff game.

            Kickoff from Aberdeen is scheduled for 7:00 PM, with pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV beginning at 6:00. Bryce Ladwig and Josh Boelter will be on the call.

            Mount Marty volleyball’s Ally Whitmire posted 50+ assists for the 2nd straight match last night, as the Lancers fell to Hastings College 3 sets to 2.

            Whitmire’s back-to-back big nights currently have her 12th in the NAIA in total assists. Julia Weber was the main beneficiary of Whitmire’s assists last night, as she posted 27 kills to lead the Lancers.

            The Lancers will be in Mitchell, SD for their next match, as they take on Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday.

            The Yankton Gazelles volleyball squad are at home for senior night tonight, as they host the Pierre Governors inside the Summit Activities Center.

            Mount Marty men’s and women’s soccer hosted Jamestown last night for a double header, as the men played to a 1-1 draw, while the Lancer women fell 2 to 0.

            Brandon Cervantes picked up the lone goal for the Lancer men in their draw. Both teams will be on the road for their next matches, as they take on Dakota Wesleyan in a double header on Sunday.

            Yankton Bucks and Gazelles cross country were scheduled to compete in a meet in Huron this afternoon, but that has been canceled due to inclement weather.

            The cancellation means the end of the regular season for Yankton cross country, as they now prepare for the state tournament on October 21st.

            Yankton competitive cheer and dance will be in Aberdeen this afternoon for the Eastern South Dakota Conference meet. Events are scheduled to be held at Aberdeen Central High School, beginning at 5:00 PM.

            Jamestown University will officially be leaving the Great Plains Athletic Conference following the conclusion of the 2023-24 academic year, the conference announced yesterday.

            The GPAC Council of Presidents initially voted to remove Jamestown on Tuesday, as Jamestown University pursues membership into the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and NCAA Division II.
