            Yankton Bucks football host Sioux Falls Roosevelt tonight in an interclass matchup at Crane-Youngworth Field.

            Tonight is Senior Night for the Bucks, as it is their last home game of the regular season, before they play on the road the next two weeks.

            Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:00 PM with kickoff scheduled from 7:00. Bryce Ladwig and Josh Boelter will be on the call.

            Mount Marty football is on the road tomorrow as they make the trip to Jamestown, North Dakota to take on the Jimmies.

            Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM, with pregame coverage on KYNT beginning at 12:00 noon. Steve Thum and Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

            Yankton Gazelles tennis wrapped up day one of the 2023 class AA state tournament yesterday 9th in the team standings, with multiple Gazelles still in contention on day two.

Gazelles Day one results by flight:

  • In singles, flight one, Nora Krajewski (Kra-ski) is in the championship semifinals following a 1st round bye and a 2nd round win.
  • In singles, flight two, Sabrina Krajewski (Kra-ski) will compete in the 5th place match today after going 2 and 1 on day one.
  • In singles, flight three, Addison Gordon battled back to the consolation finals following an opening round loss. She’ll compete in the 9th place match today.
  • In singles, flight four, Evelyne Lima-Zapon was knocked out in the consolation semifinals, finishing the tournament 1 and 2 across three matches.
  • In singles, flight five, Karalyn Koerner advanced to the consolation finals following an opening round loss. She’ll compete in the 9th place match today.
  • In singles, flight six, Meagan Scott was eliminated from the tournament in the consolation semifinals.
  • In doubles, flight one, Nora and Sabrina Krajewski (kra-ski) are in the 5th place semi finals, as they take on Rapid City Stevens today.
  • In doubles, flight two, the duo of Addison Gordon and Evelyne Lima-Zapon are in the consolation semifinals after going 1 and 1 yesterday,
  • In doubles, flight three, Karalyn Koerner and Meagan Scott are in the consolation semifinals, as they take on SF Washington today.

            The second and final day of the state tournament will be held today in Sioux Falls, beginning at 8:00 AM.

Yankton Bucks soccer will be in Sioux Falls tomorrow, as they take on Jefferson in the class AA boys state quarterfinals.

            Kickoff from Jefferson high school is scheduled for 2:00 PM, pregame coverage on KYNT Plus and KYNTV begins at 1:30. Brayden Butler will be on the call.

The Yankton Gazelles volleyball team fell on the road to Brandon Valley last night in a 3-set match.

            The Gazelles are 3 and 12 on the season following the loss, as they turn their attention to a match with the Pierre Governors on October 12th.

            Yankton competitive cheer and dance competed in Mitchell yesterday, as they took home the top spot in the dance competition and finished 5th in cheer.

            Yankton scored 282.5 to claim the dance title, and posted a score of 205 in cheer. Harrisburg would win the cheer title with a score of 273.5.

            Yankton will next compete in the ESD conference championships on October 12th.

            Yankton Bucks and Gazelles cross country will compete in the ESD conference meet tomorrow morning. This year’s event will be held in Sioux Falls. The girls run first at 11:00 AM, with the boys beginning at 11:30.

            Mount Marty men’s and women’s cross country will be in Sioux City tomorrow, as they compete in an invitational hosted by Briar Cliff University.

            South Dakota Coyotes football host their Dakota Days game tomorrow afternoon, as they take on Missouri Valley Football Conference newcomer Murray State.

            The Coyotes are coming off of a 24 to 19 upset over North Dakota State last week and are looking to win their 4th straight game this season. Kickoff from the DakotaDome in Vermillion is set for 2:00 PM.

            The South Dakota State Jackrabbits football team is on the road this week, as they travel to Normal, Illinois to take on Illinois State.

            The Jackrabbits enter the contest undefeated on the year and ranked #1 in the FCS. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 PM tomorrow night.

            The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team is on the road this evening for a Big Ten matchup with Illinois.

Kickoff from Champaign, Illinois is scheduled for 7:00 PM, pregame coverage begins at 3:00 on Riverfront Broadcasting station 93.1 via the Husker Radio Network.

Bon Homme Cavaliers:

  • Bon Homme picked up their 2nd win of the year last week, taking a 34 to 22 win over Chester Area.
  • The Cavaliers have a tough test tonight, as they host undefeated Parkston.

Gayville-Volin Raiders:

  • Gayville-Volin were defeated 50 to 6 last week by Freeman-Marion-Freeman Academy.
  • The Raiders, 1 and 5 on the year, will be on the road tonight for their matchup against Arlington.

Irene-Wakonda Eagles:

  • Irene-Wakonda were handed a 77 to 22 loss to Burke last Friday.
  • The Eagles will be on the road this week, as they look for their first win of the season against Garretson,

Scotland/Menno Trappers:

  • Scotland/Menno are 1 and 6 on the year following their 26 to 0 loss to Flandreau last Friday.
  • The Trappers travel to Armour tonight, for their matchup with Tripp-Delmont-Armour-AC-DC.

Vermillion Tanagers:

  • Vermillion fell by 3 to Chamberlain last week in what ended as a 21 to 18 game.
  • The Tanagers are on the road tonight, as they take on Canton.

Bloomfield Bees:

  • Bloomfield picked up their 4th straight win last week, as they defeated Creighton 58 to 14.
  • The Bees will be on the road tonight for their meeting with Wausa.

Cedar Catholic Trojans:

  • Cedar Catholic got back into the win column last week with a 51 to 21 win over West Holt.
