The Yankton Bucks football team travels to Tea today for a matchup with the Titans. Due to projected weather in the area, the start time for the matchup has been changed from 7:00 to 5:00 PM.

            Both teams are 3 and 1 on the year, as they each look to solidify themselves as top teams in class 11-AA heading into the second half of the season.

            Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV will begin at 4:00 PM. Bryce Ladwig and Josh Boelter will be on the call.

            Mount Marty football returns home tomorrow night after back-to-back road games, as they host Northwestern College at Crane-Youngworth Field.

            The Lancers are 2 and 2 on the year as they host the undefeated Red Raiders of Northwestern.

            Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow night, pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:00. Steve Thum and Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

            Yankton Bucks and Gazelles soccer hosted West Central for a double header last night, the Gazelles played to a scoreless draw with the Trojans, while the Bucks netted a 7 to 0 victory.

            Five different players scored for the Bucks, led by a hat trick from Lance Dannenbring. Also scoring were Byron Jimenez (Hem-en-ez), Nels Hanson, Tony Guitron (Gee-tron), and Jayden Dorzok,

            The Bucks and Gazelles are scheduled to return to action tomorrow for their final regular season home games against Aberdeen Central. The Gazelles play first at 12:00 PM noon, with the Bucks set to begin at 2:00. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 11:30 AM.

            Yankton Gazelles volleyball took a 3-set sweep over Vermillion last night, picking up their third win of the season.

            Macy Drotzmann tallied 14 kills and Camryn Koletzky added 11 more to lead the Gazelles attack. Camille McDermott led in assists with 31, while Payton Moser had the most digs with 38.

            The Gazelles will travel to Aberdeen tomorrow for a match at 3:00 PM.

            Mount Marty volleyball announced earlier this week that Yankton Gazelles senior outside hitter Macy Drotzmann had committed to Mount Marty to continue her academic and athletic careers.

            Drotzmann is currently an outside hitter for the Gazelles, who leads the team in kills so far this season.

            As for the Lancers, they return to action tomorrow as they host Jamestown at Cimpl Arena. First serve is set for 1:00 PM.

Yankton Gazelles tennis ended their regular season yesterday, as they split a triangular against Sioux Falls Washington and Harrisburg.

Yankton defeated Sioux Falls Washington 7 to 2 in their duel, while falling in a close contest with Harrisburg 5 to 4.

The Gazelles will next compete in the ESD championships next Monday and Tuesday in Pierre.

The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles home cross country meet that was scheduled for last night at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton was postponed due to inclement weather in the area. The event has been rescheduled for October 2nd.

Mount Marty men’s and women’s cross country will be in action today, as they are scheduled to take part in the Wildcat Classic in Wayne, Nebraska. Races are scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.

The South Dakota Coyotes football team are on a bye this week following their 35 to 6 win over Lamar last week. The Coyotes now prepare for next Saturday’s matchup with perennial power North Dakota State.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits are coming off a dominant 77 to 7 win last week, as they are on a bye for the week. The Jackrabbits return to action next week as they begin MVFC play at home against North Dakota.
