Yankton Bucks and Gazelles soccer split their senior night double header with Mitchell yesterday, as the Bucks won 7 to 2, while the Gazelles fell 2 to 1.

            Lance Dannenbring and Anthony Alfonso Acosta each scored a pair of goals for Yankton, while freshman winger Tony Guitron bagged a hat trick to lead the team to victory. Fellow freshman Iyana Becker scored the lone Gazelles goal of the night, as she broke through late in the first half.

            Yankton will be on the road for their next match, as they have a double header scheduled for next Tuesday against Pierre.

            The Yankton Bucks football team will host the Pierre Governors tonight at Crane-Youngworth Field, in a matchup between the top-2 teams in the class 11-AA media polls.

            Kickoff for tonight’s game between the Bucks and Governors is set for 7:00 PM, pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV will begin at 6:00. Bryce Ladwig and Josh Boelter will be on the call.

            The Mount Marty Lancers football team will be on the road for the second straight week tomorrow afternoon, as they travel to Sioux City, Iowa to face Morningside College.

            Kickoff from Sioux City is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV will begin at 12:00 PM noon. Steve Thum and Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

            Yankton Gazelles tennis swept their duels yesterday in Yankton, defeating both Rapid City Christian and Sioux Falls Christian 5 to 4.

            Nora and Sabrina Krajewski (Kra-ski) went undefeated for the Gazelles, as each went 2 and 0 in singles play, while winning both of their duos matches as a tandem. Karalyn Koerner, Evelyne Lima-Zapon, and Meagan Scott also won singles matches on the day.

            Yankton will be in Mitchell tomorrow for matches against Sioux Falls Jefferson and Spearfish. The Gazelles are scheduled to take the court at 11:30 AM.

            Mount Marty men’s tennis moved to 2 and 0 on the season on Wednesday, as they defeated Buena Vista 8 to 1 in their duel.

The Lancers were perfect in singles play, and took 2 of 3 doubles matches in the event.  Jose Andrade, Alejandro Polo, Keaton List and Ignacio Gomez each went undefeated during the duel in singles and doubles action.

The Lancers are scheduled to return to action today and tomorrow for a Great Plains Athletic Conference event in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Yankton Bucks golf have an invitational scheduled for 10:30 AM this morning. The event will be held at Lake View Golf Course in Mitchell.

Yankton Bucks and Gazelles cross country will be in action today, as they will compete at Skyview Lake in Norfolk, Nebraska. Girls varsity will run first at 10:00 AM this morning, with boys varsity scheduled to begin at 10:30.

Yankton Gazelles volleyball will be on the road tomorrow afternoon, as they take on the Kernels in Mitchell. First serve is set for 4:00 PM.

Yankton competitive cheer and dance hit the road tomorrow for a competition held at the Brookings Swiftel Events Center. Events are slated to begin at 11:00 AM.

Mount Marty men’s and women’s soccer will travel to Seward, Nebraska tomorrow afternoon for a double header against Concordia University. The men kick off fist at 1:00 PM, while the women begin at 3:30.

The South Dakota Coyotes football team will play their second straight home game tomorrow afternoon, as they host Lamar University inside the DakotaDome. The Coyotes look to move to 2 and 1 on the year with a win, kickoff is set for 1:00 PM.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits will play in a neutral site contest tomorrow afternoon, as they square off with Drake at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 PM.
