The Yankton Bucks football team are 1 and 0 on the year, as they welcome Spearfish to town tomorrow night for a matchup at Crane-Youngworth Field.

            Yankton comes into the contest third in the class 11-AA media polls, with Spearfish entering the top-5 this week, in the number 5 spot.

            Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow night, with pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV beginning at 6:00. Bryce Ladwig and Josh Boelter will be on the call.

            Yankton Bucks and Gazelles soccer will be on the road this evening, as they travel to Sioux Falls for a double header with O’Gorman.

The Bucks will play first at 6:00 PM, with the Gazelles scheduled to kick off at 8:00.

The Mount Marty Lancers men’s soccer team fell to Graceland University last night, as the game ended 3 to 0 in favor of the Yellow Jackets.

The Lancers are now 0-2-1 following the loss, and will play at home in their next contest, as they host Bethany College, a week from tomorrow.

Mount Marty men’s golf wrapped up the Mount Marty Invite yesterday, finishing 6th in the event, while Morningside took home the team title.

Bennett Cassens was the top finisher for the Lancers as he tied for 10th with a score of 154. Ted Bengston, 13th, and Jimmie Cunningham, 15th, also finished in the top-20 for the Lancers.

The Lancer men will be on the road for their next event, as they compete in the Blue River Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska on September 5th and 6th.

Mount Marty women’s golf will begin their portion of the Mount Marty Invite today, held at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton. This is the first event of the season for the Lancers.

Yankton Bucks golf will be on the road tomorrow as they compete in a quad at Spring Creek Country Club in Harrisburg.

Yankton will square off with Harrisburg, Brandon Valley, and O’Gorman during the event, tee time is scheduled for 8:00 AM.

Yankton Gazelles tennis will be on the road in Mitchell tomorrow, as they will compete against Madison and Mitchell during the event.

First serve for Yankton is scheduled for 12:30 PM.

The Augustana Twilight Meet will be held tomorrow in Sioux Falls, and Cross Country teams from both Yankton High School and Mount Marty will compete in the event.

The Bucks and Gazelles will compete first as the high school varsity girls 5K begins at 7:40 PM, with the boys varsity 5K at 8:10.

The Lancer women will open the collegiate portion of the event with the women’s 5K at 8:40, with the collegiate men’s 4 mile run ending the night at 9:10.

Yankton High School competitive cheer and dance will compete in their first event of the season this afternoon at Watertown high school.

The competition is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.

The University of South Dakota Coyotes football team will open their 2023 season this evening, as they travel to Columbia, Missouri to battle the Missouri Tigers.

Kickoff for the Coyotes opener is scheduled for 7:00 PM this evening.

The 2023 Hillcrest Invitational Pro-Am begins today at the Hillcrest Golf and Country Club in Yankton.

The four-day event was originally scheduled for the beginning of August, but construction on the new clubhouse at Hillcrest caused the tournament to be delayed.

The event will officially conclude on Sunday, September 5th.

A new world record for the most attended women’s sporting event was set last night, as 92,003 fans packed into Memorial Stadium in Lincoln for a collegiate volleyball match between Nebraska and Omaha.

Last night’s event broke the previous record of 91,648, which was set in April of 2022 during a Champion’s League soccer match between FC Barcelona and Wolfsburg, and was the most attended women’s event in the United States since the women’s soccer world cup final in 1999 between the US and China.

The Huskers would win the historic match in a three-set sweep over Omaha.
