New prep football media polls for all classes across South Dakota were released yesterday, and Yankton remains third in Class 11-AA. The top three remains the same as the final preseason poll in 11-AA, while Watertown and Spearfish enter the top-5.

            Avon were the only other area team to crack the top-5 in their class, as they are now third in 9-B. Bon Homme were receiving votes in class 9-AA.

            The start time for Mount Marty’s opening GPAC football game against Briar Cliff on Saturday has been pushed back to 7:00 PM, due to forecasted high temperatures in the area. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV will now begin at 6:00.

            The Yankton Gazelles volleyball team will play their second home match of the season this evening, as they host Harrisburg at 7:00 PM.

            Yankton are 1 and 4 on the year, coming off their first win of the season over the weekend against South Sioux City.

            Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV will begin at 6:30, Brayden Butler will be on the call.

            Mount Marty women’s soccer were scheduled to play their first match of the season yesterday against York University, but that has been postponed to a later date. No new date has been set at the time of writing.

            The Mount Marty men’s soccer team will be on the road tomorrow, as they travel to Lamoni, Iowa to take on Graceland University. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 PM.

            Yankton Bucks golf will be in Mitchell today, as the two schools are scheduled to compete in the Marchand Cup. Tee time is currently set for 2:00 PM at Lake View Golf Course.

Yankton Gazelles tennis will host Brandon Valley and O’Gorman for a triangular today, beginning at 11:00 AM.

Yankton will play Brandon Valley at 11 and O’Gorman at 3:00. All matches will be held at the Yankton High School Tennis Courts.

            Mount Marty men’s golf open their 2023 season today, as they host day one of the Mount Marty Invite at Fox Run Golf Course. Day two of the event tomorrow is scheduled to be held at the Bluffs in Vermillion.

Mount Marty women’s golf will also compete in the Mount Marty Invite, with their portion beginning on Thursday.
