The Yankton Bucks football team will play their opening game of the 2023 season tomorrow night at Crane-Youngworth Field in Yankton, as they host the Mitchell Kernels.
Yankton is coming off of a season that saw them advance to the semi-finals of the class AA playoffs, where they fell to the eventual champions, Pierre.
Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:00, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 PM. Bryce Ladwig and Josh Boelter will be on the call.

The Mount Marty Lancers football team will begin their third season in program history on Saturday, as they host Culver-Stockton College at Crane-Youngworth Field.
The Lancers are coming off of a season that saw them grab their first three victories in school history, including two in GPAC play.
Kickoff from Yankton is scheduled for 5:00 PM on Saturday for the Lancers. Coverage will be available on KYNT and KYNTV, Steve Thum and Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

The Yankton Gazelles volleyball squad will travel to Dakota Valley this evening, as they play the Panthers at 7:00 PM. 

This will be Yankton’s second match under new head coach Tayler Stacey, and the first since they fell in 5-sets to O’Gorman on Tuesday.

Mount Marty volleyball are 4 and 0 to start the season, as they look to continue their hot start tomorrow with a pair of games against Valley City State and Mount Mercy.
Mount Marty will play Valley City State first at 4:00 PM, then the Lancers will meet Mount Mercy at 7:00. Both games will be held in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles soccer teams will travel west tomorrow, as they have a double header scheduled against Douglas.
The Bucks will play first at 5:00 PM, with the Gazelles playing at 7:00. Both kickoff times are listed in mountain time.

Mount Marty men’s soccer will be on the road for their season opener tomorrow, as they will travel to Minneapolis, Minnesota to square off with Hamline University. First kick is set for 4:00 PM.

The Yankton Bucks golf team will compete in an invitational at Huron Broadland Creek Golf Course tomorrow morning. Thirteen teams will compete in the event, with tee time scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday morning.

Yankton Gazelles tennis will travel to Brookings tomorrow for a quad against Brookings, Harrisburg, and Aberdeen Central. 
Yankton will face Harrisburg at 11:00 AM, Brookings at 1:30 PM, and Aberdeen Central at 4:00. All matches will take place at the Brookings Hillcrest Tennis Courts.

Yankton Bucks and Gazelles cross country will compete in their first meet of the season tomorrow afternoon, taking place at Pasley Park in Sioux Falls.
The girls varsity will begin running at 4:00 PM, with the boys varsity running at 4:25.

University of South Dakota defensive back Myles Harden was announced yesterday as a member of the 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watchlist.
Harden is one of 12 athletes representing the Missouri Valley Football Conference, and is the lone Coyote named to this year’s list. Harden has previously been honored as a preseason All-American, and is a former All-Conference honoree for the MVFC.

The South Dakota Coyotes volleyball team have been picked to capture their fourth straight conference championship, as they sit atop the Summit League Preseason Polls that were announced yesterday.
USD’s Madison Harms and Evelyn Diedrich (Dee-Trick) were also honored as preseason players to watch for the conference. Also cracking the top-5 in the conference polls were South Dakota State, who were picked 4th ahead of the 2023 season.
Both teams are scheduled to play their first matches of the year tomorrow.
