The Mount Marty Football season opener will now kickoff an hour earlier, as the Lancers game against Culver-Stockton has moved from a 6:00 PM start time to 5:00 PM.

            The game will take place at Crane-Youngworth Field at 5:00 PM on August 26th.

The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles soccer teams split their double header with Harrisburg last night, as the Gazelles fell 8 to 0, while the Bucks took a 2 to 0 victory.

            Christian Pacheco and Simon Schulz scored a pair of goals a few minutes apart in the second half to secure the Bucks first victory of the season as they are now 1 and 1. The Gazelles fall to 0 and 2 on the season following their loss to the defending state champions Harrisburg

            Both teams will be on the road tomorrow for a double header against Watertown, beginning at 4:00 PM.

            The Yankton Bucks Golf team ended the final day of the Warrior-Lynx Invite in the same position they began, as they finished 8th in the 18-team field.

            Easton Vellek was the highest individual finisher for Yankton, as he tied for 18th, shooting 153 in the tournament. Also for Yankton, Parker Riley posted a 156, Miles Krajewski (Kra-ski) shot a 166 followed by Kai Cody’s 167. Henry Homstad and Eli Larson rounded out the Bucks scoring, as they each shot 173.

            Yankton will return to action on Friday, as they host Brandon Valley, Harrisburg, Sioux Falls Lincoln, and Sioux Falls Washington in an event at Fox Run Golf Course.

            The Yankton Gazelles tennis team have started the season 4 and 0 as they swept a triangular in Vermillion yesterday afternoon.

            Yankton opened the day with a 9-0 sweep of Lennox, before ending the event with a 6 to 3 win over Vermillion. Nora Krajewski (Kra-ski), Sabrina Krajewski, Addison Gordon and Karalyn Koerner went undefeated on the day, as all four won both of their singles matches, while also going unbeaten in doubles play. Nora and Sabrina Krajewski teamed up for their doubles victories, while Gordon and Koerner were partners in their doubles wins.

            The Gazelles are back in action tomorrow, as they take on Watertown and Rapid City Stevens in an event held at Brandon Valley Middle School.
