LOCAL SPORTS 7-3-23

Yankton Fury Red advanced out of pool play during the Ringneck softball tournament over the weekend, before falling in the opening tournament round to Abbott Fury Gold. Yankton Fury Black and Fury Fire also competed in the invitational, as both teams were eliminated in pool play.

            Fury Red went 3 and 0 in pool play, as they outscored their opponents 27 to 3, before falling to Abbott 5 to 3. Fury Black and Fury Fire both went 1 and 2 in their pools, with Fury Black earning a 5 to 3 win over Minnesota Renegades, while Fury Fire defeated TSC Blaze 16 to 1.

            Yankton Fury Fire has the next scheduled game on the calendar, as they will play Hartford on July, 11th.

            Yankton post 12 has fallen to 4th in the latest Class A legion baseball standings as the calendar rolls over to July. Harrisburg Gold maintains the top spot, with Sioux Falls East in 2nd, and Brookings in 3rd rounding out the top-3.
