United Way of Greater Yankton has named Mary Schweitzer as their May Volunteer of the Month.
Schweitzer, who has lived in Yankton since 1996, volunteers with several community organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the Yankton Contact Center, and Yankton College among others.
Schweitzer says that between the various organizations, she volunteers nearly 700 hours a year and that volunteerism has given her life a greater quality.
