LOCAL SPORTS 1-25-23

The Yankton Bucks hosted Sioux Falls Lincoln last night in a Class AA boys basketball matchup. KYNT Sports Director Bryce Ladwig gave his thoughts following last night’s game.

            Coverage for tomorrow night’s matchup between the Bucks and the Brandon Valley Lynx can be found on KYNT and KYNTV. Pregame coverage will begin at 6:30 PM, with tipoff at 7:00. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.

            The Yankton Gazelles will also be in action tomorrow night as they will travel to Brandon Valley for their battle with the Lynx. Tipoff is set for 7:00 PM.

            The Mount Marty Lancers men’s and women’s basketball teams are already in Jamestown, North Dakota, as they are set to battle the Jamestown Jimmies this evening. The women will get the action started at 6:00 PM with the men to follow, coverage for tonight’s GPAC double header can be found on KYNT with pregame beginning at 5:30. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles wrestling teams will hit the mat tomorrow as they travel to the state capital for a duel with the Pierre Governors. The event is taking place at Pierre Riggs high school, with matches set to begin at 4:00 PM.

The Yankton Gazelles Gymnastics squad will compete tomorrow as they cross the border to Hendricks, Minnesota for a duel against Hendricks Public. Tomorrow’s events are scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM.

The Yankton Quarterback Club will host their weekly meeting today at JoDeans in Yankton, beginning at 12:00 PM noon. Yankton Gazelles head basketball coach Trey Krier will be the featured guest speaker.

The South Dakota Coyotes men’s and women’s basketball teams will take on Western Illinois tomorrow night in a split double header. The Coyote women will welcome Western Illinois to the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion, while the USD men will take the trip to Macomb, Illinois for their date with the Leathernecks. The women are set to tipoff at 7:00 PM, while the men are scheduled to get started at 6:00.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits men’s and women’s basketball teams resume conference play tomorrow night for a pair of matchups with St. Thomas. The Jackrabbit women will host the Tommies inside Frost arena, while the SDSU men will travel to St. Paul, Minnesota to take on St. Thomas. Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.
