The Yankton Gazelles hosted Sioux Falls Jefferson last night in a class AA basketball matchup, as the 3rd ranked Cavaliers would take down the hometown Gazelles 65 to 45. Next up for the Gazelles is a trip to Sioux Falls Roosevelt on Thursday night, with coverage provided on KYNT and KYNTV beginning at 6:30PM. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call

            The Yankton Bucks basketball squad also took to the hardwood last night as they traveled to Sioux Falls Jefferson to take on the Cavaliers. KYNT Sports Director Bryce Ladwig broke down the game immediately following last night’s contest.

`           The Mount Marty Lancers basketball teams will not make their originally scheduled trip to Fremont, Nebraska to take on Midland tonight, as those games have been moved to tomorrow due to forecasted weather. Games are still set to begin at the same time, with the women playing at 6:00 PM and the men to follow.

            The Yankton Gazelles gymnastics squad took the short trip down the road to Vermillion last night to compete in a duel against the Tanagers. Yankton would come out victorious in the duel as they earned a final team score of 131.3. Yankton’s Allie Byrkeland secured the highest all-around score of the meet with a 33.05., and Fellow Gazelle Ava Koller earned the highest single event score of the meet with an 8.9 on her floor routine. Next up for the Gazelles is a duel with O’Gorman on Monday at River City Gymnastics & Cheer in Yankton at 5:30PM.  

            The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles wrestling teams will host a triangular at the Summit Activities Center tomorrow night as they welcome the Pierre Governors and the Huron Tigers to Yankton. Matches are set to begin at 5:00 PM

            The South Dakota Coyotes men’s and women’s basketball teams will be in action tomorrow night as they have a split double header against the Denver Pioneers. The USD women will travel to Denver Colorado for their matchup, while the Coyote men will host the Pioneers inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. Both games are scheduled to tipoff at 7:00 PM central.

            The South Dakota State Jackrabbits men and women will also have a pair of basketball games tomorrow night as they take on the Omaha Mavericks. The Women will travel to Omaha for their contest, while the Jackrabbit men stay home to take on the Mavs in Frost Arena. Both games are scheduled to tipoff at 7:00 PM.

            The Yankton Quarterback Club will host their weekly meeting today at noon at JoDeans. Newly appointed University of Sioux Falls football coach Jim Glowgowski will be the featured speaker at the meeting. Glowgowski was named the new USF head coach on December 9th of last year.
