The Mount Marty Lancers men’s and women’s basketball squads will have to wait an extra day to take the court for the first time in 2023 as their double-header against the Concordia Bulldogs that was originally scheduled for this evening has been moved to tomorrow night.

            The (4-11) Lancer Women will get the action started at 5:00 PM against the (7-6) Bulldogs while the Mount Marty men will follow as they look to improve their (6-11) record against a Concordia team that is (10-5) overall and receiving votes in the latest NAIA polls.

            Coverage for both games can be found on KYNT and KYNTV with pregame coverage beginning at 4:30 PM tomorrow afternoon.

            The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles will both have a full week of rest between games as they prepare for a Friday night double header at home against the Mitchell Kernels.

            The (0-4) Gazelles will lead off in the double-header with a 6:00 PM tip against the (1-2) Mitchell girls squad. In the nightcap, the (2-0) Bucks will face-off with the (2-1) Kernel boys team in what will be a battle between the #4 and #5 teams in the latest media polls.

            Live coverage of both games will be broadcast on KYNT and KYNTV with the pregame beginning at 5:30 PM Friday night.

            The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles wrestling teams will participate in a triangular tomorrow night as they are set to take on Mitchell and Harrisburg. The meet is set to take place at Harrisburg high school with the matches scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.

The Yankton Quarterback Club has been postponed due to weather conditions around Yankton and will not take place today. The weekly meetings are set to resume next Wednesday with Mount Marty head women’s basketball coach Allan Bertram as the featured guest speaker.

The South Dakota Coyotes men’s and women’s basketball teams return to action tomorrow night as they both prepare to do battle with the Fightin’ Hawks of North Dakota.

The (7-8) Coyote men are coming off back-to-back victories as they travel to Grand Forks to take on a (6-9) North Dakota squad who have dropped their last two games. The USD women are also (7-8) on the season as they welcome the (9-4) Fightin’ Hawks to the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion. Tip-off for both games is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow night.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbit men’s and women’s basketball squads will also remain out of action for another day as they both prepare to take on the North Dakota State Bison.

            The Men carry a (7-8) overall record into tomorrow night’s road battle with the (4-11) Bison in Fargo, while the women, who are looking to win their 5th straight contest and improve on their (11-5) overall record, welcome a (9-4) North Dakota State team to Frost Arena. Both games are set to tip-off at 7:00 PM Thursday night.

            In other SDSU basketball news, Jackrabbits’ Sophomore guard Zeke Mayo has been named Summit League men’s basketball player of the week following a pair of excellent performances to end 2022. Mayo amassed a 12-point 11-rebound double-double against Saint Thomas, as well as putting up a career high 33-points against Western Illinois to help the Jackrabbits close the year with back-to-back victories.
