• Both the Yankton Gazelles and Bucks were involved in shutouts during their inter-class varsity soccer matchups at Class A West Central yesterday evening, with the Gazelles being shut out 4-0, and the Bucks cruising to an 8-0 victory. The Gazelles (0-4), and Bucks (2-2) return home to Crane-Youngworth Field Friday evening as they square off against Douglas beginning with the Bucks at 4pm. Then both teams return to Crane Saturday morning for a double-header tilt versus Spearfish. Catch Saturday’s action live on KYNTV, with pregame coverage beginning at 930am for the Bucks matchup.   • The Yankton Bucks Football team finished third in the newly released South Dakota Media Power Rankings. The Bucks finished with 52 votes, behind #1 Pierre with 90 votes, and Tea Area with 62. The Bucks begin their season Friday in Mitchell, 7pm kickoff, pregame coverage begins at 6pm with Bryce Ladwig and Josh Boelter on KYNT and KYNTV platforms.
  • The Yankton Gazelles begin their new campaign today at the defending Class AA Champion Sioux Falls O’Gorman. Yankton is coming off one of their most successful seasons in recent memory, finishing with a .500 record and finishing in the top portion of the ESD Standings. The Gazelles seek to build on the success of last year, but will do so without any seniors on the squad, a fact Coach Chelsea Law doesn’t want to be used as an excuse. First serve is set for 7pm
  • The Yankton Bucks Golf squad takes to the greens at Hillsview Golf Course in Pierre for an invitational this morning. Yankton most recently finished 10th at the Warrior/Lynx Invite in Sioux Falls early last week. Tee off for Hillsview is set for 10am this morning.
  • The Yankton Quarterback Club will hold its first meeting of the 2022-2023 school year on tomorrow at noon at JoDean’s in Yankton. The public is invited to attend. There is a cost for the meal. The QB Club hosts area college and high school coaches, as well as special event speakers.
