  • The Class B South Dakota Amateur Baseball Tournament at Cadwell Park in Mitchell saw another pair of teams advance into the third round of action yesterday. Dimock/Emery defeated Salem 8-6, while (Dell Rapids vs Larchwood) to advance. The final games of the 2nd round wrap up today, with Lake Norden facing Winner/Colome at 530pm, followed by Flandreau squaring up with Kimball/White Lake at 730pm. The second round of Class A is still on break but will continue on the 12th.
  • Yankton Gazelles and Bucks Soccer begin their 2022 campaign on Friday, traveling to Sioux Falls Lincoln and Yankton Trails Park to face off against Sioux Falls Lincoln. The boys game will be first, beginning at 6pm. You can catch all the home action and select road games beginning Tuesday, on all KYNT and KYNTV platforms, with Josh Boelter, Brayden Butler and Bryce Ladwig bringing you the action all season long.
  • South Dakota head strength and conditioning coach Clete McLeod has named Natalie Portwood as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Portwood will work primarily with women’s basketball, while assisting with football and other sports. Portwood served as a sports performance graduate assistant with Southeastern Oklahoma State. She was the primary strength coach for the Storm’s basketball, volleyball and softball teams. She designed, implemented and coached the teams’ training programs. In addition, she developed nutrition materials and educated athletes on proper nutrition habits. The South Dakota Coyote Football Season begins September 3rd at Kansas State.
