LOCAL SPORTS 7-7-22

  • Yankton Legion Baseball (19-10) begins their regular season ending series of road trips tomorrow as they head to the Twin Cities for the Gopher Classic. Yankton will begin pool play vs Forest Lake and Mankato National on Friday, Fargo Post 400 on Saturday, and Thunder Bay Ontario and Hopkins on Sunday. We will have updates for you on KYNT social media platforms. Yankton is currently 8th in the Class A Standings, competing to maintain the final home playoff regional series seed in the upcoming postseason. The current lead over the 9th seeded Rapid City Post 320 is (0.3) points.
  • South Central League Baseball is in action tonight in Yankton, as the (7-3) Tappers host (4-7) Crofton at Riverside Field. Yankton is currently 2nd in the SCL Standings, behind (8-1) Lesterville. In other SCL action, (5-4) Tabor travels to Lesterville tomorrow, then on Sunday, Lesterville (8-1) makes the trip to (4-7) Wynot, and (2-8) Menno travels to (5-4) Tabor.
  • The South Dakota High School Coaches Association has announced the newest inductees to the SDHSCA Hall of Fame.
