  • Yankton Legion Baseball (19-10) begins their regular season ending series of road trips Friday as they head to the Twin Cities for the Gopher Classic. Yankton will begin pool play vs Forest Lake and Mankato National on Friday, Fargo Post 400 on Saturday, and Thunder Bay Ontario and Hopkins on Sunday. We will have updates for you on KYNT social media platforms.
  • South Central League Baseball has a full slate of games over the next week:

Tomorrow, Crofton (4-7) visits (7-3) Yankton at Riverside Field.

Friday, Tabor (5-4) travels to Lesterville (8-1)

Sunday, Lesterville (8-1) makes the trip to (4-7) Wynot, and (2-8) Menno travels to (5-4) Tabor.

  • Christy Warnock, who spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach at the University of South Dakota, has been named the head softball coach at Wayne State College. She becomes the 14th head coach in the 50-year history of the Wildcat softball program. Warnock comes to Wayne State after coaching four seasons at the University of South Dakota. This season, Warnock helped the Coyotes to a 28-25 record and a fourth-place finish in the Summit League with an 11-10 league mark. Her first season as an assistant coach (2019) saw USD post a 33-28 record and 12-6 mark in the Summit League, the most wins for the Coyote program in the Division I era.
  • South Dakota women’s golfer Danica Badura was named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar list as announced by the association on Tuesday. This is the second time Badura appears on the list after being selected as an All-American Scholar last season. In her sophomore campaign, Badura competed in all 11 tournaments and finished second on the team with a 76.73 stroke average. She claimed three top-10 placements on the year including her highest finish of the season with a sixth-place finish at the Stampede at the Creek. The Aurora, Nebraska, native shot a season-low 71 twice and recorded a season-low 54-hole score of 223 at the Stampede at the Creek. She closed out her season with a top-20 finish at the Summit League Championships.
