  • Today’s scheduled Yankton Bucks vs Sioux Falls Lincoln varsity baseball double-header has been cancelled due to inclement weather. A makeup date has not been determined.
  • Yankton athletics action returns tomorrow as Bucks tennis hosts a triangular vs Sioux Falls Washington and Vermillion at the SAC Tennis Courts tomorrow at 11am, Yankton Gazelles golf host both Brookings and Brandon Valley at Fox Run Golf Course beginning at 1pm, and the Track and Field squads head to Brandon Valley for a four team meet (Sioux City Bishop Heelan, O’Gorman, Brandon Valley) beginning at 4pm.
  • Bela Goerke went 3-for-3 and drove in five runs as South Dakota completed its Summit League three-game series sweep over North Dakota with Saturday’s 14-9 win at Nygaard Field. The Coyotes (23-17, 8-4 in Summit) banged out 14 hits in the third game and completed the sweep by scoring 43 runs and posting 41 hits in the process. South Dakota remains tied with Omaha (19-12, 8-4 in Summit) in second place in the Summit League standings as the two prepare for a crucial three-game series that begins Saturday at Nygaard Field.
  • South Dakota State softball kept its home record perfect Saturday with a pair of walk-off victories over Kansas City at the Jackrabbit Softball Stadium. SDSU took game one over the Roos 10-2 in six innings after walk-off single by Mia Jarecki followed by a 1-0 win in game two behind Rozelyn Carrillo’s solo homer in the bottom of the eighth. SDSU improves to 6-0 on home turf, 10-2 in the Summit League and 29-10 overall. The Jackrabbits are slated for a three-game series at North Dakota State Saturday and Sunday in Fargo.
  • Northern Colorado scored in each of its last four trips to the plate to pull away from South Dakota State for a 12-3 victory the finale of a three-game Summit League baseball series Sunday afternoon at Jackson Field. UNC improved to 8-26 overall and 5-7 in league play in salvaging the final game of the series. The Jackrabbits dropped to 13-17 overall and 7-5 in The Summit League. The Jackrabbits are scheduled to host a pair of mid-week games, starting with a matchup against Dakota Wesleyan tomorrow. First pitch is slated for 3 pm at Erv Huether Field.
