The Gazelles basketball squad prepare to travel to #1 ranked Sioux Falls Washington tonight, looking for their first victory of the season. Game begins at 7pm, and Bryce Ladwig will provide continued updates on the action during the Bucks broadcast.

  • South Dakota State football coach John Stiegelmeierhas signed a contract extension that will keep him on the Jackrabbit sidelines through 2025. The deal, announced yesterday, adds two years to an original five-year contract that was signed in 2018. Stiegelmeier is in his 25th season as head coach and is the winningest coach in program history, leading the Jackrabbits to a 185-110 overall record. South Dakota State has qualified for the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs each of the last 10 years and 11 times in 13 seasons. Including the 2021 campaign, the Jackrabbits have advanced to the national semifinals four of the past five seasons and reached the national championship game during the 2020-21 spring season. He will lead the Jackrabbits this coming Saturday for the FCS Championship Semifinals at Montana State, kickoff set for 1pm.
  • On the heels of a buzzer-beating three-pointer to defeat Washington State on Saturday, South Dakota State’s Baylor Scheierman has earned the TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award. The sophomore guard from Aurora, Neb., earned the No.1 spot on ESPN’s Top Plays Saturday, burying a step-back jumper from beyond the arc to deliver the Jacks a 77-74 win over Washington State. It marked SDSU’s second ever win over a Pac-12 program, and ninth over a Power 5 program in the last 14 seasons.
