  • The Yankton High School Wrestling Program was swept in their season opener yesterday evening by Watertown 77-0 and by Beresford-Alcester-Hudson 45-33. Yankton, now 0-1 on the season is back in action Saturday at Watertown for a dual tournament starting at 9 am.
  • The South Dakota Volleyball program is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four seasons where they will take on the 12th seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers in Minneapolis today for a 7pm first serve. The Coyotes earned an automatic bid into the tournament by winning the Summit League Tournament this past weekend.
  • The Yankton Gazelles basketball program tips off its season tonight night as they host Sioux Falls Lincoln at the Summit Center. You can catch the action live on all KYNT audio platforms as well as KYNTV with Bryce Ladwig. Pregame coverage begins at 630pm, tipoff at 7.
  • South Dakota senior punter Brady Schutt is one of 10 semifinalists for the 2021 FCS Punter of the Year Award presented by The Augusta Sports Council. The semifinalists were chosen from a field of 37 nominated candidates. A national voting body of FCS sports information directors, conference representatives and sports writers will choose the winner from our top 10 semifinalists. The winner will be announced Dec. 13.
  • The South Dakota State’s men’s and women’s track and field teams kick off their indoor season this weekend at home, hosting the SDSU Holiday Open and Multi today and tomorrow at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
  • South Dakota State men’s basketball player Noah Freidel was named Thursday as the Summit League Male Athlete of the Month for November. South Dakota State resumes action today by hosting Minnesota Morris. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Frost Arena.
  • Crofton used five players in double figures to power past Tri County Northeast 80-29 in the girls’ basketball season opener last night. Crofton travels to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge today for their first road game of the season.
