Local Sports Wrap 9-9-21

  • Despite leading the majority of the first set, the Lancers fell to Doane in three straight sets in GPAC Volleyball action last night at Cimpl Arena 25-22, 25-18, 25-17. The Lancers, now 4-4 overall and 0-3 in GPAC hit the road to take on Peru State College in the Peru State Triangular Saturday at 2pm.

 

  • Mount Marty defeated Dakota Wesleyan in Men’s Soccer last night at Crane-Youngworth Field 6-0. The Lancers Women team did not fair as well, dropping their matchup vs Dakota Wesleyan 3-1. The men (2-0-1) and women (1-2) both travel to Nebraska to take on York College. The first game is the women, beginning at 1pm.

 

  • Both coming off a loss Tuesday night, the Yankton Bucks and Gazelles take on another ESD opponent tonight at home, Brookings. You can catch the action live on KYNT radio and KYNTV. Bucks (4-1-1) pregame begins at 330pm with KYNT sports director Bryce Ladwig, and play-by-play sportscaster, Josh Boelter, and the Gazelles (2-4) matchup will take place immediately after.

 

  • Yankton Volleyball (3-6) travels north on I-29 tonight as Brandon Valley (3-4) hosts the Gazelles for an ESD clash. First serve is set for 7pm.

 

  • Tonight marks the one and only home invite for Yankton Competitive Cheer & Dance. The invite is held at the Summit Activities Center and begins at 5pm. Fans are encouraged to come and support both teams! You can hear the coaches thoughts on their respective teams performances on the KYNT Coaches Show Saturday morning at 9am.

 

  • Gazelles Tennis takes on Huron today as a makeup game that was rescheduled due to weather, however, the matchup will take place at Hitchcock Park in Mitchell, opening serve at 4pm.
