  • The Yankton Bucks Football team travels north tonight to re-kindle an old rivalry with ESD foe, Aberdeen Central, who is now in the AA class with the Bucks. Aberdeen Central is coming off a dominant 49-0 shutout over Douglas last week, while the Bucks are coming off a similarly dominant 41-2 victory over ESD foe Huron.   • Due to caution regarding inclement weather, the Bucks and Gazelles Varsity & JV Soccer games at O’Gorman scheduled for yesterday afternoon and evening in Sioux Falls have been postponed to Saturday, September 11. Additionally, the YHS Soccer Teams would like to invite the public to Crane-Youngworth Field on Tuesday for a canned food drive to help those in need. More information to follow in the coming days.

 

  • Mount Marty freshman Kelsey Heath is tied for third after the opening round of the Lancers’ home women’s golf invitational. Round one of the two-day event was held yesterday at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton. Her score ties a Lancer school record with Taylor Flanery, who set it initially in 2016. The invitational continues today at Hillcrest Golf and Country Club in Yankton.

 

  • The Gazelles Volleyball team swept Beresford in an inter-class matchup last night at the Summit Activities Center (25-13, 25-14, 25-16). Jordynn Salvatori led the zelles with 11 kills. Yankton (3-5) now will host Sioux Falls Roosevelt (1-2) Tuesday with the first scheduled for 7pm.

 

  • Today, both Gazelles tennis and Yankton Cross Country hit the road. Gazelles Tennis will participate in a triangular vs Pierre and host, Mitchell, at Hitchcock Park. The cross- country team takes part in the Augie Twilight, a meet including high school and college teams, beginning at 6pm.
