LOCAL SPORTS REPORT

  • The Yankton Bucks are adding to an already jam-packed weekend of excitement in Yankton today, as they host their annual scrimmage at Crane-Youngworth Field. Players will begin warming up at 6pm. The public is welcome

 

  • The Yankton Bucks improved their record to 2-0-1 with a 3-0 victory over Watertown last night in Watertown. Zach Loest preserved the shutout by stopping 10 shots. Gavin Fortner led the Bucks offensively with two team goals, while Braylen Bietz tallied his second of the season. The Bucks now make the trip west to Douglas on Aug. 27, and Spearfish on the 28th. Joining the Bucks on the trip out west will be the Gazelles, who were upended in their matchup last night 2-1. Despite the loss, Ashlyn Vogt had another stellar performance minding the net, stopping 10 shots.

 

  • Yankton Bucks Golf will play host today for a triangular at Fox Run Golf Course vs Sioux Falls Lincoln and Sioux Falls Washington. Tee time is set for 10am. The Bucks are coming off a ninth-place finish at the Warrior invite earlier this week.
