Yankton Legion Season Ends

Yankton Post 12 took their final at bats of the 2021 season Saturday afternoon, falling to Pierre 14-3 in game two of the best of three series over the weekend. With the victory, Pierre moves on to the state tournament in Brandon this weekend. Fielding errors gifted Pierre extra runs which proved to be costly to Yankton in both games & losses of the series. Yankton finishes their regular season (17-24), twelve more victories than a season ago. That improvement, and the youth of Yankton’s team is something that is recognized and appreciated by head coach Drew Lawrence.

As a team, Yankton boasted a .275 BA, .386 OBP, and 5.1 runs per game. Individually, Yankton was led by Dylan Prouty, who hit .330 and tallied 31 RBI. On the mound, Yankton was led by Drew Ryken, who posted a 5-2 record and a 3.15 ERA.
