University of South Dakota coach Dan Fitzsimmons was inducted into the South Dakota Cross Country and Track and Field Coaches Association Hall of Fame last weekend. Fitzsimmons built the Yankton High School cross country and track and field program into a regional and national power and he coached 13 South Dakota Class AA championship teams. Fitzsimmons joined the Coyote coaching staff in 2008 and is a five-time Summit League Women’s Cross-Country Coach of the Year.
