U.S. Army Reserve Blocks Ravnsborg Promotion

The U.S. Army Reserve has blocked the promotion of South Dakota’s Attorney General because of his role in the death of 55-year-old Joe Boever, who was struck in September along a rural highway by a car driven by Jason Ravnsborg.

The Attorney General posted on social media last month that he was being promoted to the rank of full colonel.  However, the Army Reserve announced that the promotion has been flagged and won’t be submitted to the U.S. Senate for confirmation until charges against Ravnsborg are resolved.  The Attorney General from Yankton has pleaded not guilty in this case.
