Mount Marty Baseball earned a sweep over GPAC foe Midland yesterday afternoon at Riverside Field. The Lancers blanked Midland 9-0 in game 1. Dylan Nicholson earned the victory by pitching a complete game shutout, allowing only two hits and striking out 5. In the second game, Mount Marty clipped Midland by an 8-4 score, Clayton Chipchase earned the win for the Lancers, pitching just over six innings and tallying 7 strikeouts. The second game also marked the 400th career victory for Lancer head coach Andy Bernatow. Assistant coach Jason Nelson had kind words to describe Bernatow’s dedication to the program. Mount Marty is now 20-14 on the season and 8-8 in the GPAC, while Midland is now 16-21 and 5-11 in conference play. The Lancers next matchup is a GPAC Double-header at the University of Jamestown on Saturday.
