Bucks Earn Sweep over Huron at Riverside Field

The 0-4 Yankton Bucks baseball squad notched two victories vs Huron in double-header baseball action Saturday, securing an 8-7 and 9-1 victory to improve their overall record to 2-4 in Class A play. In the first game, Samuel Kampshoff pitched 4.1 innings, earning 10 strikeouts and 2 earned runs, Joe Gokie took the mound in relief and would earn the victory for the Bucks. Coach Drew Lawrence was very happy with the performances on the mound. The winning run was scored in extra innings off the bat of Garret Nelson, who singled in the bottom of the eighth to secure the Bucks first victory of the season. In the second game, the Bucks tallied 12 hits and nine runs. Landon Loecker (Lecker) pitched a complete 7 inning game, earning 8 strikeouts and the victory. The Bucks host Sioux Falls Washington for another double-header today at Riverside Field, first pitch is set for 5pm.
