MMU Baseball Splits with GPAC-Leading Doane Friday

The Mount Marty baseball squad beat Doane University 8-4 in the nightcap Friday to earn a split with the league-leading Tigers at Riverside Field.  Jet Weber belted a home run in each game for the Lancers, while Billy Hancock, Colin Muth, Mason Townsend and Caid Koletzky each homered on the night.  Blake Swoboda pitched five innings for the win and Chris Rofe tossed four shutout innings for the save.  In the first game, Doane swatted a school-record six home runs for a 13-3 victory.  Mount Marty is 6-8 in the G-PAC and tied for sixth place with Midland, and they will host the Warriors Sunday afternoon with the games broadcast on KYNT Sports starting at 12:40.

The Mount Marty University softball squad has a twin bill at Dakota Wesleyan this afternoon.  The Lancers are 5-3 and in a fourth-place tie in the conference, while the Tigers are winless in six G-PAC games.
