Mount Marty scored four runs in the fifth inning of the baseball opener yesterday and defeated Hastings 4-2, while the Broncos shut out the Lancers 1-0 in the nightcap. Josh Roemen had two doubles and two singles on the day for Mount Marty. Tyler Priest pitched the complete-game win in game one, while Blake Swoboda threw six hitless innings in game two for Mount Marty. The Lancers are 5 and 5 and sixth place in the G-PAC as they host a top 20 team in the nation today when Concordia visits Bob Tereshinski Stadium for a twin bill at Riverside Field.
