Cold First Half Leads to a USD Women Loss in NCAA

The University of South Dakota women’s basketball team misfired on 25 consecutive shots in the first half and sixth-seed Oregon rolled past the Coyotes 67-47 last night in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in San Antonio.  After scoring just nine points in the first 20 minutes, USD scored 38 in the second half and was led by senior Hannah Sjerven with 18 points and 12 boards.  The Coyotes were the Summit League post-season tournament champions and ended the season with a 19-6 overall record.
