Medical Marijuana Delay Plan Nixed in SD Legislature

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s plan to scale back the legalization of medical marijuana failed Wednesday in the State Senate.  Noem’s proposal died after the SD House and Senate could not agree on the bill, paving the way for medical marijuana to go into effect on July 1.

South Dakota voters approved the measure to implement medical pot by a 70-30 percent margin in November’s general election.
